Development / charlie hanger

The aircraft is only the beginning.

Charlie Hanger brings aircraft knowledge into a new medium: an F-15E Strike Eagle for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Chapter 01

From the flight line to the build.

My relationship with the F-15E began in the U.S. Air Force as a crew chief. Charlie Hanger draws on that operational familiarity, a commercial pilot’s perspective and an 18-month Microsoft Flight Simulator contract to shape how an aircraft should look, behave and feel.

Chapter 02

A cockpit worth understanding.

I lead aircraft research, 3D modeling, systems integration and simulator testing. The development priorities include cockpit layout, aircraft systems, flight characteristics, navigation, visual detail and VR compatibility. The original project views below document the cockpit work in progress; they do not establish completed or validated systems.

Chapter 03

Build. Test. Refine.

Testing more than 100 simulated aircraft as a Microsoft contractor informed my approach to repeatable evaluation and quality. The F-15E is the starting point for a longer-term ambition to expand the F-15 series and develop additional aircraft.
